About Carver Garden
Carver Garden is a thriving vegetable garden in East Harlem, part of the Bronx and Manhattan Land Trusts, is one of 32 permanently preserved community gardens located throughout the Bronx and Manhattan. The Land Trusts' mission is to "mobiliz[e] communities and develop garden leaders" in the city. Blossoming and bearing fruit in vacant lots and on street corners, these gardens not only provide fresh food and quiet green spaces in urban areas; they're also meant to foster a sense of ownership and community.
